PAPYRUSMILL - Redevelopment of the old paper mill site and surronding area in Newton Kyme North Yorkshire

The Masterplan

Fitting in with the 'village' feel

At the very heart of the proposal was a desire to deliver a development to blend into, and enhance, the existing area without losing the unique village feel of the local community.

A natural extension of the village

The new development was conceived as a natural extension of the original village formed by Papyrus Villa. Across the entire project, new buildings would draw inspiration from the local traditions and styles of Boston Spa, Thorp Arch, and more specifically, from Newton Kyme itself.

The mixed development would comprise 200 houses and 20,000 sq ft of office space. From the outside the offices would have had the appearance of homes so as to compliment the wider residential area.

Aspects of the proposed masterplan
