Highway improvements

Transport engineers carefully developed our plans for the site, in line with concerns raised by residents about the potential for speeding traffic. As a result, a range of safety and access improvements were suggested.

Potential benefits could include:

• A safer access point with increased visibility along the A659 for traffic leaving the proposed development
• A protected right-hand turning lane into the site and speed reductions with new road markings
• A new pedestrian island for safer crossing of the A659 and to slow traffic
• Relocation of the bus stop with access from safer crossing points
